  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup uncooked white rice
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup 10.5 oz
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • fresh thyme or parsley optional, for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Step 1: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a large mixing bowl, combine the uncooked rice, chicken broth, cream of chicken soup, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well and pour into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Step 2: Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and a sprinkle of paprika. Lay them over the rice mixture in the baking dish.
  • Step 3: Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the chicken and rice.
  • Step 4: Cover the dish with foil and bake for 40 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 15 minutes, or until the chicken is fully cooked (165°F/74°C) and the cheese is golden and bubbly.
  • Step 5: Let cool for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh thyme or parsley if desired.

Notes

You can substitute the cream of chicken soup with cream of mushroom for a deeper flavor. For added texture, sprinkle breadcrumbs or crushed crackers over the top before baking uncovered.
