Ingredients
  

  • 12 oz penne pasta
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp mustard powder
  • 1.5 cups cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese shredded, divided
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup whole milk or half-and-half
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • chopped parsley or chives for garnish (optional)

Method
 

  1. Step 1: Cook penne pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Step 2: In a large skillet, heat olive oil. Sauté onions until soft, then add garlic and cook for 1 minute. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Step 3: Stir in tomato paste, paprika, mustard powder, salt, and pepper. Cook for 2–3 minutes.
  4. Step 4: Pour in beef broth and milk. Simmer for 5 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  5. Step 5: Stir in cheddar cheese and half of the mozzarella until melted and smooth.
  6. Step 6: Add the cooked pasta and toss to coat evenly. Transfer to a baking dish if desired.
  7. Step 7: Sprinkle remaining mozzarella on top and broil for 2–3 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  8. Step 8: Garnish with parsley or chives and serve hot.
