Equipment

  • Large Pot
  • Wooden Spoon or Spatula
  • Measuring Cups

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 cups farfalle (bowtie) pasta uncooked
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 can diced tomatoes 14 oz
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  • Step 1: Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook for 3 minutes until softened.
  • Step 2: Add garlic and ground beef. Break it apart as it browns. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Cook until beef is no longer pink.
  • Step 3: Stir in beef broth, diced tomatoes (with juices), and marinara sauce. Mix well.
  • Step 4: Add uncooked bowtie pasta. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 12–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender and sauce has thickened.
  • Step 5: Remove from heat. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.

Notes

You can add shredded mozzarella or Parmesan at the end for a cheesy twist. This recipe also works great with ground turkey or Italian sausage if desired.
